Yoga is much more than simply a system of exercise. It is a philosophy and way of life which aligns body, mind, and spirit, helping you to live a happier and more abundant life. Purna Yoga is alignment-based yoga which focuses on safety, allowing you to open the body without risking injury. Yoga can be learned by people of all ages, all levels of physical fitness, and all levels of flexibility.

Doing yoga can help you:

  • Increase the health, strength, and flexibility of your body while improving balance and coordination.
  • Lose weight.
  • Alleviate aches and pains.
  • Improve postural habits.
  • Stimulate health and optimal functioning of all the organ systems.
  • Calm your mind and emotions.
  • Ground yourself in your body, helping you increase awareness and consciously create your thoughts, actions, and responses, leading to a more harmonious life.
  • Feel younger, more alive, and live a more joyful life.

At the Healing Sanctuary, yoga is taught in private, one on one sessions. Each session is individually tailored to the needs of the client and can focus on a specific issue (ie. low back pain, digestive issues, etc) or provide a balanced sequence for overall benefit. The use of props and support ensures that each pose is done safely, and every session includes instruction on meditation techniques which can be practiced at home in addition to the postures.
